My Dad always called me "SD". When we searched for a name for our rabbitry "Esdee's" (pronounced S.Dee's) came to mind. While I am known as Sheila to my husband and friends, the name Esdee's always makes me smile.
We discovered the gentle natured Holland Lop by way of a "Pet" bunny which I named Ovaltine,
He captured the hearts of my sewing club and became the club mascot.

The difficulty in finding purered Holland baby bunnies inspired me to become a Holland Lop Breeder back in 2003, I discovered the colorful and exciting hobby of breeding and showing Holland Lops.
I also discovered why Ovaltine was a pet, he had some disqualifying characteristics. To avoid the disappointment of finding your beloved pet is a cull, (I love him anyway) I set out to breed the best bunnies possible. Then I found Grand Chanpion bloodlines were not readily for sale, but a few generous breeders will part with select animals of good pedigrees occasionally. Locating and contacting select breeders with top bloodlines and genetics became the next task, most top breeders have long waiting list for weanlings. Fortunately we had asked for the help of several Judges to locate isolated breeders of good H.Lops, One Judge quickly pointed to a breeder in Oregon who had been breeding up a top notch herd. Another Judge pointed to two more, one in Texas, one in Mich. We contacted these highly recommended breeders and all were extremely helpful in locating the foundation stock which we show you here. Esdee Lops have bred several Grand Champion Holland Lops and added years of our own successfull breedings to our herd. With several years of beautiful bunnies we are anxiously awaiting the 2011 show season.
